According to statistics, people with disabilities account for 12per cent of the total population of Legionowo. Meanwhile, no education provision has been available to help integrate the group into the community or improve accessibility of public institutions. The problem has deepened as a result of poor public awareness and no anti-discrimination measures.
The objective of the project was to help children understand and accept people with disabilities in their community and teach them how they can help them at school and in public space. The project also focused on building an awareness of how people with disabilities are affected by the lack of acceptance manifested by hate speech in physical and virtual reality.
The project offered activities that reached out to 257 students in four local primary schools. As a result, students developed an awareness of barriers experienced by people with impaired mobility, vision or hearing/speech and how to help such individuals. Children also developed attitudes of tolerance and respect towards people with disabilities.
The project developed an instruction manual (I Do Not Exclude) used by 15 pre-trained teachers who delivered classes to 257 children in four primary schools. This manual will be used in schools as part of the social integration agenda. The children organised a city game for the local community based on an accessibility and barrier map they developed in the project. The children also developed Little Conventions of the Rights of People with Disabilities.

The Partner, Plonskapress Printing-Publishing Studio, was responsible for editing and layout of the training manual and other publications in the project and secured the local media patronage.
