Project description
Non-governmental organisations operating in the Varmia-Mazurian voivodship do not have sufficient competencies to engage in discrimination-preventing activities. Gender equality issues are not handled by local authorities either – hence the need to empower non-governmental organisations operating in the voivodship, willing and able to improve their competencies in preventing discrimination and to engage in relevant dialogue with local authorities.
The purpose of the project was to empower non-governmental organisations operating in the Varmia-Mazurian voivodship in terms of their ability to initiate discrimination-preventing activities and to impact respective local policy-making.
A Voivodship Network for Gender Equality Consulting and Assistance was founded, with a membership of 5 organisations. Equality strategy recommendations were drafted for the Local Marshal Office of the Varmia-Mazurian voivodship.
A Varmia-Mazurian Anti-Discrimination Academy (96 hours of classes) was organised for 15 female representatives of non-governmental organisations operating locally. Academy class participants had the opportunity to practice their newly acquired skills by organising anti-discrimination events locally.
Gender equality policy recommendations for local authorities were drafted and presented at a project summary conference.
Project beneficiaries included 15 female representatives of non-governmental organisations operating in the Varmia-Mazurian voivodship.
