The Foundation completed the "Assistance Service Coalition" thematic project focusing on the development of an assistance service sector for the disabled. With a view to establish contact with the municipality of Sandness, two study visits were organised, one to Norway and Poland each, respectively. During the visit to Poland, the Partner delivered an assistance service and recuperation break workshop for assistants to the disabled, and attended an international conference on the promotion of best practices in the field of assistance service implementation. Foundation representatives improved their skills in the field of providing assistant services to the disabled, learned the practical aspects of organising stationary forms of recuperation break services, and expanded their knowledge concerning local government-private entity co-operation for purposes of implementing policies to support disabled residents and their families. The contact yielded a publication summarising solutions applied by the Norwegian partner.
