International Watchdog Forum took place on the 25th – 26th of September in Warsaw!
Watchdog Forum was organized by Citizens Network Watchdog Poland, together with the Stefan Batory Foundation. It was an unique opportunity to not only get to know each other better, but also to discuss the issues of social control and watchdogging tools with many European organisations.
Together we worked on many problems troubling organisations performing activities which are connected with influencing local and central authorities and monitoring them. During the so called table discussions we debated such issues as how to involve the citizens in our organisations actions, how to measure social change, how to deal with dependencies or how to keep our actions cohesive. We also spoke about the future of financing sources for watchdogs and how to alter the image of such organizations.
About 100 organisations took part. There were about 15 organisations from beyond Poland.
